Actual Comments from the holder of this Actual Career

How do you feel about this Actual Career?
Working in the jail brought out the worst aspects in me and literally made me choose between my family and my job. I dealt with the scum of society alongside the wrongfully accused, and had no way of sorting the two. I cultivated a number of bad habits during this time, mostly in response to the stress.  This is a job for mean people, or for people without families. Plus, the political aspects of the job took me completely by surprise. I hate small town politics, and the job of deputy jailer in a small town should be relegated to thugs who can comfortably follow brutal orders.

Was your degree helpful in your career field?
A degree of any kind was required for the sergeant’s position.

In your opinion, what kind of education did you need to get this career?
You need formal combat training. No other education is really helpful. Some financial training is helpful to run the commissary.

Experience, Skills, Specialized Training, Licenses, or Certifications:
I don’t have any licenses or special training at the time I got the job.

Just one more thing….
