Land Surveyor

Surveyors are professional measurers. Measurements are made for the purpose of establishing boundaries, construction design and layout and mapping projects. Job includes outdoor work collecting measurement data for location, elevation, contours and shape of land features using a variety of equipment including high precision GPS. Work also is performed indoors utilizing specialty calculation software and computer-aided drafting. This work includes analysis and organization of data and preparation of the data into different types of drawings.
